SERVICES

Twelve services, delivered under five practices.

Each practice is described below together with the specific work the firm undertakes, the deliverables produced and the clients typically served.

P1

Cybersecurity & Assurance

Security delivered as a continuing discipline: continuous monitoring and response, periodic independent assurance, and the physical and logical controls required to support both.

Cybersecurity

Moonhattan Technologies operates cybersecurity as a standing programme rather than a periodic project. The practice combines continuous monitoring of the client estate, a defined incident response capability, independent technical assurance, and the supply and commissioning of the security infrastructure on which both depend.

Engagements typically begin with an assessment of the current control environment measured against a recognised framework. From that baseline the firm establishes what must be monitored, what must be remediated immediately, and what belongs in a longer improvement programme. Findings are reported in full, including where they reflect adversely on systems the firm has itself delivered.

Where clients operate under regulatory obligations — data protection legislation, sector supervisory requirements or donor conditions — the firm provides compliance advisory and prepares the evidence required to demonstrate conformance during audit or inspection.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Managed detection, monitoring and response
  • Incident response planning and containment
  • Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
  • IT system, controls and configuration audits
  • Compliance readiness and data protection advisory
  • Security architecture and design review
  • Identity and access management
  • Security policy and standards development
  • Supply, installation and commissioning of security infrastructure
  • Security awareness training for staff and management
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYGovernment agencies, banks and financial institutions, universities, health institutions and enterprises operating regulated or business-critical systems.
P2

Software, Data & Geospatial Systems

Systems for organisations whose requirements are not met by commercial off-the-shelf products, including the firm's health informatics, geospatial and climate forecasting capability.

Custom software systems

The firm designs and builds software for organisations whose processes cannot be accommodated by commercial off-the-shelf products without unacceptable compromise. Work spans internal operational systems, public-facing services, mobile applications and the integration layers that connect them to existing infrastructure.

Development begins with a documented requirements and feasibility study. Architecture, security model, data model and integration points are agreed before implementation starts. Delivery proceeds in increments subject to client review, with client personnel working alongside the delivery team so that operational knowledge accumulates during the project rather than at the end of it.

Systems are built for the conditions in which they will actually run. Where connectivity is intermittent, applications are designed to operate offline and reconcile on reconnection. Where client teams are small, administrative functions are built to be operated without specialist recruitment.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Requirements analysis and feasibility studies
  • Solution architecture and security design
  • Web application design and development
  • Mobile application development, including offline-capable field tools
  • Systems integration and application programming interfaces
  • Database design, optimisation and administration
  • Automated testing and quality assurance
  • Deployment, documentation and operator training
  • Post-implementation support and maintenance
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYMinistries and agencies, enterprises with non-standard operations, research institutions and programmes running distributed field operations.

Data analytics

Most organisations hold considerably more data than they use. The firm's analytics practice consolidates data held across disconnected systems, establishes the pipelines that keep it current, and presents it in a form that supports decisions rather than merely reporting on activity.

Work begins by establishing which decisions the organisation needs to make and at what frequency. The technical design follows from that: warehouse structure, extraction and transformation logic, quality controls, refresh intervals and access permissions. Dashboards are built for named audiences — an operations supervisor and a board committee require different instruments.

Data governance is treated as part of the engagement. The firm documents lineage, defines ownership of each dataset and implements the access controls required to satisfy data protection obligations.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Data strategy and requirements definition
  • Data warehouse and data mart design
  • Extraction, transformation and loading pipelines
  • Data quality assessment and remediation
  • Business intelligence dashboards and reporting
  • Statistical analysis and modelling
  • Data governance frameworks and documentation
  • Analyst training and handover
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYEnterprises, government departments consolidating administrative data, universities and programmes with donor reporting obligations.

Health management information systems

The firm maintains healthcare domain expertise within its delivery teams, which is a prerequisite for building systems that clinical staff will actually use. HMIS work covers facility-level systems, district and national aggregation, and the reporting required by health authorities and funders.

Implementations account for the realities of health service delivery: staff working under pressure, limited time for data entry, unreliable power and connectivity, and reporting formats that change. Interfaces are designed for speed of entry. Systems are built to operate offline and synchronise when a connection is available.

Interoperability is addressed explicitly. The firm works with established health data standards and builds the integration required for facility systems to exchange information with national platforms rather than existing as isolated records.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • HMIS requirements assessment and system selection advisory
  • Facility, district and national system implementation
  • Health data interoperability and standards-based integration
  • Clinical, pharmacy, laboratory and stores modules
  • Patient record and registry systems
  • Routine and indicator-based reporting
  • Offline-capable deployment for low-connectivity facilities
  • Clinical and administrative user training
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYMinistries of health, county health departments, hospitals and clinic networks, and health-focused development programmes.

GIS & climate forecast systems

The firm's geospatial practice combines GIS specialists and environmentalists, enabling it to deliver both the technical platform and the analytical substance. Work ranges from discrete mapping and spatial analysis assignments to operational climate forecasting and early-warning systems.

Spatial work supports planning and resource allocation: infrastructure siting, service coverage analysis, land use assessment, asset registers and catchment studies. Remote sensing is applied where ground data is unavailable or too costly to collect at the required frequency.

Climate and early-warning systems combine meteorological inputs, historical records and observed ground conditions to produce forecasts and alerts for a defined audience. The firm builds these to be operated by the responsible institution, with documented models and defined thresholds rather than opaque outputs.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Spatial data collection, digitisation and management
  • GIS platform design, implementation and hosting
  • Remote sensing and satellite imagery analysis
  • Thematic mapping and cartographic production
  • Climate and weather forecasting systems
  • Early warning and environmental monitoring platforms
  • Spatial analysis for planning and resource allocation
  • Survey design and field data collection tooling
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYEnvironment and water ministries, county planning departments, universities and research centres, and climate and humanitarian programmes.
P3

Infrastructure, Cloud & Modernisation

Controlled modernisation of legacy estates, cloud adoption and enterprise platform advisory, carried out without interruption to service.

Infrastructure & application modernisation

Legacy systems seldom fail outright. They become expensive to maintain, fragile under change and progressively harder to secure, until replacement becomes urgent at precisely the moment the organisation can least afford disruption. The firm modernises such estates in controlled stages.

Each engagement opens with an assessment establishing what the estate actually contains: applications in use, data held, dependencies, licensing position and security exposure. From that the firm proposes what should migrate, what should be re-platformed, what should be rebuilt and what should be retired.

Migration proceeds so that service availability is maintained throughout. Each stage remains reversible until the next is validated, and legacy components are decommissioned only once their replacements have operated successfully in production.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Legacy estate assessment and modernisation roadmap
  • Cloud readiness assessment and migration strategy
  • Cloud landing zone design and implementation
  • Database migration, upgrade and consolidation
  • Application re-platforming and containerisation
  • Hybrid and on-premise architecture design
  • Deployment automation and release management
  • Backup, resilience and disaster recovery design
  • Cost optimisation and ongoing cloud financial management
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYEnterprises carrying long-lived core systems, government agencies consolidating infrastructure, and institutions moving from on-premise to hybrid operation.

ERP consultancy

ERP programmes fail more often on preparation and governance than on software. The firm acts on the client's side of these programmes: establishing requirements before vendors are approached, evaluating proposals on comparable terms, and supervising implementation against the agreed specification.

Where a system has already been selected, the firm provides implementation oversight — validating configuration decisions, managing data migration from legacy systems, testing integration with surrounding applications and holding the implementing vendor to the contracted scope.

The firm does not resell ERP licences, which allows it to advise on selection without a commercial interest in the outcome.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Business process review and requirements definition
  • ERP selection advisory and vendor evaluation
  • Tender preparation and proposal assessment
  • Implementation oversight and configuration review
  • Data migration from legacy systems
  • Integration with existing applications and reporting
  • User acceptance testing and go-live readiness review
  • Post-implementation review and benefits assessment
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYEnterprises, universities and public bodies implementing or recovering enterprise resource planning programmes.

General IT consultancy

The firm advises boards, executives and IT leadership on decisions that carry long-term cost and risk: what to build, what to buy, what to retire, and how to structure the internal capability required to operate the result.

Assignments include IT strategy and roadmap development, independent architecture and security review, assessment of proposals from incumbent vendors, and preparation of technical specifications for procurement. Advice is given on the basis of the client's constraints rather than a preferred technology stack.

The firm also conducts independent reviews of projects in difficulty, establishing the actual position and setting out the options available to the client.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • IT strategy and multi-year roadmap development
  • Independent architecture and technology review
  • Technical specification and tender document preparation
  • Vendor evaluation and proposal assessment
  • Procurement support and contract technical review
  • Project recovery and independent status review

  • Executive and board technical briefings
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYBoards, accounting officers, chief executives and IT directors requiring independent technical advice.
P4

Electrical Engineering & Renewable Energy

Design, specification and commissioning of the power systems on which technology depends, together with renewable generation advisory.

Electrical engineering

The firm employs qualified electrical engineers, which allows it to take responsibility for the power infrastructure on which its own systems depend rather than subcontracting it. Work covers design, specification, installation supervision, testing and commissioning.

A substantial proportion of the practice concerns critical facilities: server rooms, data centres, hospitals and laboratories, where power quality and continuity determine whether the systems above them function. Designs address load calculation, distribution, protection coordination, earthing, surge and lightning protection, and backup provision.

The firm supervises installation and conducts commissioning against the design, issuing test records and as-built documentation on completion.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Electrical design, specification and load studies
  • Power distribution and protection coordination
  • Server room and data centre power design
  • Earthing, surge and lightning protection systems
  • Backup power, generator and UPS sizing
  • Bills of quantities and technical specifications
  • Installation supervision and site inspection
  • Testing, commissioning and as-built documentation
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYHealth institutions, data centre and server room owners, universities, manufacturers and commercial property operators.

Renewable energy consultancy

Renewable generation is assessed on measurable outcomes: reduced operating cost, improved continuity of supply, or reduced emissions against a stated target. The firm conducts the feasibility work first and advises against installation where the case does not support it.

Feasibility studies establish current consumption and load profile, available resource, site constraints, capital and lifecycle cost, and expected payback. Where a project proceeds, the firm designs the system, specifies equipment, prepares procurement documentation and supervises installation and commissioning.

Environmentalists within the team support impact assessment, sustainability reporting and advisory work on energy and climate policy for institutional and public sector clients.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Energy audits and consumption profiling
  • Solar photovoltaic feasibility studies
  • Solar system design, sizing and specification
  • Battery storage and hybrid system design
  • Grid-tied, off-grid and backup configuration design
  • Procurement documentation and contractor evaluation
  • Installation supervision, testing and commissioning
  • Remote monitoring of energy assets and performance reporting
  • Environmental impact input and renewable energy policy advisory
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYInstitutions with high or unreliable grid dependence, health and education facilities, commercial operators and public sector energy programmes.
P5

Project & Programme Management

Governance of complex, multi-party technology and infrastructure programmes, whether delivered by the firm or by contractors appointed independently.

Project management

Large technology and infrastructure projects seldom fail on engineering grounds. They fail on scope, sequencing, procurement and the interfaces between vendors. The firm provides project and programme management as a service, governing either its own delivery or contractors appointed independently by the client.

Acting as a client-side project management office, the firm establishes the schedule, defines approval gates, maintains the risk register, controls budget and consolidates reporting from all parties into a single account of progress. Concurrent workstreams are held to common gates so that no component is certified complete in isolation.

For donor-funded and public sector programmes the firm also establishes monitoring and evaluation frameworks and prepares the reporting required by funders and oversight bodies.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Project planning, scheduling and resource management
  • Client-side project management office services
  • Programme and portfolio governance
  • Procurement and tender management
  • Vendor coordination and contract oversight
  • Budget control and cost reporting
  • Risk and issue management
  • Quality assurance and formal acceptance
  • Monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Stakeholder, donor and board reporting
  • Project close-out, handover and benefits review
TYPICALLY ENGAGED BYPublic bodies, enterprises and development programmes running multi-vendor technology or infrastructure projects.
ALL

Across all practices

Capacity building is written into every scope of work and is also delivered as a standalone service.

Capacity building

An engagement is not considered successful if it leaves the client dependent on the firm. Capacity building is therefore written into every scope of work, and is also delivered as a standalone service.

Within projects this comprises documentation prepared for client personnel rather than for the delivery team, practical training conducted during implementation rather than on completion, and a defined support period during which the client's staff assume operation with the firm available in support.

As a standalone service the firm delivers structured technical training, security awareness programmes, administrator and operator courses, executive briefings and curriculum support for academic institutions.

WHAT WE DELIVER

  • Technical skills training for developers and engineers
  • System administrator and operator training
  • Security awareness programmes for general staff
  • Executive and board-level technical briefings
  • Curriculum development and institutional teaching support
  • System documentation, runbooks and operating procedures
  • Embedded mentoring and coaching
  • Structured post-handover support periods
