WHO WE ARE

An integrated engineering and technology firm.

Technology performance in our region is determined as much by supporting infrastructure as by the systems themselves. Health information systems are constrained by unreliable power. Cloud migrations are delayed by undocumented legacy databases. Renewable installations underperform where generation data is not monitored.

Moonhattan Technologies was established to address these conditions directly. The firm is multidisciplinary by design, combining software developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity experts, electrical engineers, GIS experts, environmentalists and healthcare domain experts within common delivery teams. This structure enables the firm to assume responsibility for complete systems rather than isolated components.

For more than eight years the firm has served national and county governments, large enterprises, small and medium enterprises, universities and non-governmental organisations.

More about the firm

WHAT WE DO

Twelve services across five practices.

Most engagements draw on more than one practice. A health information system, for example, requires software, data, security and power expertise. Such engagements are staffed as a single accountable team rather than issued as separate contracts.

IN PRACTICE

How the work is delivered.

Managed security operations

Monitoring, incident response and independent audit conducted continuously rather than reviewed annually.

Field data to decision platform

Facility and field data captured offline, synchronised on connection, and processed into health, spatial and climate intelligence.

INVERTER

Power systems and renewable generation

Solar generation, storage and distribution designed, installed and commissioned around prioritised critical loads.

WHO WE SERVE

Clients across five sectors.

A ministry, a commercial bank and a field programme may specify comparable systems while operating under entirely different requirements. Delivery method, documentation and procurement approach are adjusted accordingly.

Government

National and county government, ministries, agencies

Public sector engagements require audit-ready documentation, strict procurement compliance, data sovereignty and systems that remain serviceable beyond political cycles. These requirements are incorporated at design stage, together with secure architecture review, compliance advisory and structured handover to civil service teams.

Large enterprises

Finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail

Enterprises require change without disruption to operations. The firm works within established governance frameworks, integrates with incumbent vendors, and undertakes work that others decline, including legacy database migration, ERP integration, continuous security monitoring and modernisation of systems that cannot be taken offline.

Small & medium enterprises

Growing businesses and regional operators

Small and medium enterprises require enterprise-grade security and systems at a scale they can fund and staff. Solutions are sized accordingly, structured around predictable operating costs rather than large capital outlay, and built to be operated by a small internal team without specialist recruitment.

Universities & research institutions

Higher education and research centres

Academic environments combine open research networks with sensitive student and financial records, presenting a demanding security profile. The firm supports campus infrastructure, research data platforms, geospatial and climate research systems, and develops capacity among staff and students as part of delivery.

NGOs & development programmes

Humanitarian, health, climate, donor-funded

Programme delivery operates under fixed grant cycles, remote site conditions and donor reporting requirements. The firm develops offline-capable field tools, health and geospatial platforms and climate early-warning systems, and structures engagements to align with funding timelines and reporting obligations.

WHERE WE WORK

Regional coverage.

The firm operates across the East African region from offices in Nairobi and Mogadishu. Conditions in these markets — intermittent connectivity, variable power supply, exacting procurement requirements and the need for local operation — are treated as standard design parameters.

Kenya

Head office at Nextgen Mall, South C, Nairobi. Clients include national and county government, financial services, universities, health institutions and the regional non-governmental sector.

Somalia

Office at Orfane Towers, Taleex, Mogadishu. Work comprises institutional systems, security, connectivity-constrained deployments and development programme delivery.

Uganda

Served from the regional offices. Engagements comprise enterprise systems, health informatics, geospatial and climate work, and public sector modernisation.

OUR DIFFERENTIATORS

What distinguishes the firm.

Security integrated into every engagement

The firm maintains a full cybersecurity practice. Security review is therefore incorporated into every implementation, migration and installation rather than procured separately on completion.

Electrical engineering capability in house

Few technology firms in the region employ qualified electrical engineers. The firm is able to specify, install and commission the power infrastructure on which its own systems depend.

Domain expertise within delivery teams

Healthcare, environmental and geospatial specialists are assigned to the implementation itself, ensuring requirements are understood directly rather than interpreted through intermediary documentation.

Eight years of regional delivery

Sustained experience of East African procurement, infrastructure and compliance conditions enables the firm to plan and price engagements accurately.

Handover treated as a deliverable

Documentation, training and a defined support period are written into every scope of work, so that ongoing dependence on the firm is not a condition of the system operating.

Single line of accountability

Multidisciplinary projects are staffed as one team under a single point of accountability rather than divided among vendors with separate reporting lines.
